SUBJECT
SHÀN 善 Kindness Pendant · Sterling Silver & 18K Gold Plated | One Word. One World.
DESCRIPTION
「善」— Shàn · Kindness
To choose kindness, even after experiencing life in all its complexity.
Do good. The future will take care of itself.
但行好事,莫问前程。
A Word Written by Hand
The character 「善」 began with a handwritten word.
One day, I asked my friend Duraid, a London antique dealer, to give me a word. He chose Kindness and asked how it was written in Chinese.
I showed him 「善」— Shàn.
He carefully practised the character again and again, determined to write it himself.
SHECH preserved the character in his own handwriting and transformed it into jewellery — the first creation in our One Word. One World.|一字一世界 collection.
A Chinese character, a friendship, and a meeting of two cultures, held within one small piece.
Design & Craftsmanship
Crafted in 925 sterling silver, the pendant has a clean octagonal form, with Duraid’s handwritten 「善」 preserved at its centre and finished in 18K gold plating.
The silver border remains visible, creating a quiet contrast between warm gold and cool silver.
A press-to-open connector allows the pendant to be attached to a necklace or a suitably sized bracelet, giving it more than one way to be worn and kept close.
The reverse carries a full set of British hallmarks:
SHECH — Sponsor’s mark
Lion Passant — Sterling silver standard mark
925 — Sterling silver fineness
Leopard’s Head — London Assay Office
B — 2026 date letter
Each piece carries its own mark of SHECH · London · 2026.
