SHECH 人 | People: After 15 Years, We Met Again
After 15 years, we met again.
Julia and Daniel — my former colleagues from Intel R&D.
After all these years, life brought us back together in Richmond, London.
It was a quiet moment, yet full of emotion.
That kind of joy — when you meet again after so long — needs no introduction.
We simply sat down… and the conversation never ended.
What’s even more incredible is that Daniel and I both came to the UK 15 years ago.
So close, yet we had never actually met.
We had spoken online before — it felt familiar, almost like face to face —
but life kept us busy, and time just passed.
This time, it was Julia visiting London
that made this long-overdue reunion finally happen.
We spoke about the past, about the paths we’ve taken.
Some chose to stay, some chose to change —
but in different ways, we all kept moving forward.
It reminded me of something simple, yet true:
my best work is never just because of me —
it is shaped by the people, the culture, and the shared journey.
15 years later,
we haven’t changed that much —
not in who we are.
But we’ve all grown.
Learning is a lifelong pursuit.
No matter how full today feels,
tomorrow always begins from zero.
We’ve already promised to meet again — very soon.
Grateful for the spring air and sunlight,
for letting us sit by the Thames,
talking… and talking.
