A Warm Response
This antique natural jadeite necklace, dating to around the 1920s, has found a new home with someone who treasures it.
After receiving the necklace, its new owner sent it to GIA for testing. On the day she received the report, she was delighted and sent me a video to share her happiness. She also left this lovely five-star review:
★★★★★
“This Genuine Jadeite Necklace surpassed my expectations. Simply gorgeous. The seller was very patient and kind with all my questions and went above and beyond. I will most definitely recommend her shop.”
Reading “surpassed my expectations” and seeing her happiness when the report arrived meant so much to me. From her first questions to receiving the necklace and arranging independent testing, our conversations became a memorable part of this antique piece’s journey.
The necklace comprises 54 natural jadeite beads, measuring approximately 12.4–13.5mm in diameter, with an overall length of around 76cm. The generously sized beads display a beautiful mix of pale celadon, grey-green and vivid green markings. Some are softly clouded, while others reveal flowing ribbons of colour. Each bead has its own texture and character.
Individually knotted on green silk thread, the beads are finished with a fluted 18ct gold ball clasp. The gentle warmth of the gold complements the jadeite beautifully, giving this long necklace a quiet elegance.
The necklace is well preserved overall, with visible cracks in some beads. Appreciating its soft lustre and distinctive character also means describing its condition honestly, and cherishing its imperfect antique beauty.
Its story now continues with its new owner. And to her, I would simply like to say:
Thank you for taking the time to share your happiness with me, for your trust, and for such warm and generous words.
May this jadeite necklace accompany you through many ordinary, beautiful days.
