An exquisite Georgian bracelet, circa 1820, showcasing a finely hand-painted portrait enamel at its center. The miniature depicts a graceful lady in vivid period attire, protected under a convex crystal and mounted within an ornate repoussé frame.
The bracelet itself is crafted in Pinchbeck—a historical copper-zinc alloy invented in the early 18th century by London watchmaker Christopher Pinchbeck. Renowned for its durability and golden appearance, Pinchbeck was highly prized during the Georgian era as a luxurious yet practical alternative to gold.
This piece exemplifies the artistry and elegance of early 19th-century jewellery:
