Queen Victoria 1847 Silver Coin Bangle | Royal Arms & Young Head Portrait
DESCRIPTION
An elegant silver bangle incorporating a coin dated 1847, combining British royal imagery with finely engraved floral decoration.
The outward-facing coin displays a crowned shield of the Royal Arms, framed by leafy branches. Its quartered design features the three lions of England in two quarters, the rampant lion of Scotland, and the harp of Ireland. The surrounding lettering and raised details give the piece a distinctive historical character.
Viewed from inside the bangle, the other side reveals the youthful, left-facing portrait of Queen Victoria. Her swept-back hair, bun and ribbon are delicately rendered, with the date 1847 clearly visible beneath her neck.
Hinged fittings connect the coin to the gently tapering silver band. Engraved flowers, foliage and geometric motifs decorate the shoulders, creating a graceful transition from the circular coin to the oval bangle.
The silver retains its natural patina and fine surface marks, with the decorative details still clearly visible. A distinctive piece combining the historical interest of coin jewellery with the beauty of engraved silver.
