Antique Chrysoberyl & Old European Cut Diamond Daisy Brooch | 18ct Multicoloured Gold & Platinum | Circa 1900

A delicately formed daisy, combining the brilliance of antique diamonds with subtle variations in gold colour. Slender petals surround a yellow-green chrysoberyl centre, while an engraved leaf follows the gentle curve of the stem.

Dating to circa 1900, this brooch is crafted in 18ct multicoloured gold with platinum-topped diamond petals. The leaf and stem display a pale yellow-green gold tone, contrasting beautifully with the rose-gold colouring of the backing, pin and clasp. The cool platinum surface brings definition to the diamond petals, while the golden flower centre adds a softly textured accent.

At the heart of the flower sits a natural chrysoberyl measuring approximately 2.8mm in diameter. Its yellow-green colour echoes the subtle green tones of the leaf and stem, revealing shifting shades as its facets catch the light.

Surrounding the chrysoberyl is a gently raised gold centre decorated with fine bead-like detailing, reminiscent of the tiny florets at the heart of a daisy. Light and shadow settle between these miniature rounded forms, giving the flower centre a particularly lovely sense of depth.

Sixteen slender petals radiate outwards, each set with three natural old European cut diamonds. Together, the 48 diamonds form three concentric rows of light across the flowerhead. Their individual antique facets reveal lively flashes and contrasting depths as the brooch moves.

The leaf is carefully engraved with a central vein and fine branching details, following its softly lobed outline. Its muted green-gold colouring and gently textured surface complement the curved stem, lending the piece a natural, graceful silhouette.

To the reverse, a tube hinge and C-shaped clasp complete the construction. The rose-gold tones of the backing provide another pleasing contrast with the pale yellow-green stem.

An elegant floral jewel to wear on a lapel, collar or knitwear, with thoughtful details to enjoy from every angle.
