Georgian Green & White Paste Brooch c.1820 in 9ct Gold & Silver
DESCRIPTION:
A refined Georgian brooch, circa 1820, crafted in the traditional mixed-metal style of the era — silver to the front and gold to the reverse. The elegant elongated oval form features a vibrant green paste stone at its centre, framed by a halo of sparkling white paste gems.
The central green paste is beautifully proportioned and expertly cut, measuring approx. 21 x 7mm, with a rich, saturated colour reminiscent of fine emerald. Surrounding it are antique-cut white paste stones, each executed with the exquisite black-dot technique characteristic of early 19th-century craftsmanship, enhancing their depth and sparkle.
DETAILS:
• Materials: 9ct gold (reverse), silver (front)
• Gemstones: Green paste, white paste (black-dot antique cut)
• Dimensions: 2.7 x 1.5cm; depth 0.7cm
• Central stone: approx. 21 x 7mm
• Weight: 5.2g
• Condition: Excellent antique condition with all stones present and secure. No repairs or replacements.
A fine example of Georgian paste jewellery — meticulously crafted, delightfully wearable, and highly collectible.
