Medog white tea
Medog Mist (White Peony)
Medog White Peony is produced in Medog County, Tibet. The tea is named for the way its tender buds and young leaves unfurl like blossoming flowers. Each leaf is carefully picked with one bud and one or two leaves. The dry leaves are naturally spread, covered with fine white hairs, showing a beautiful mix of silvery white and fresh green. When brewed, the liquor is clear and light apricot in color, with a clean, refreshing sweetness. The taste is mellow and lingering, carrying delicate floral and subtle honey notes.
Brewing Guide
- Teaware: A glass cup or porcelain gaiwan is recommended to enjoy the beauty of the leaves unfolding.
- Tea amount: Use 3–5 grams of tea leaves.
- Water temperature: Brew with hot water at 85–90°C (185–194°F). Avoid boiling water to preserve the fragrance.
- Brewing steps:
- Rinse the leaves quickly with the first infusion to awaken the tea.
- From the second infusion, steep for 1–2 minutes before drinking.
- Can be infused 4–6 times, with a consistently elegant flavor.
