A beautifully carved natural jadeite jade pendant bringing together the traditional Chinese symbols of the horse, coin and auspicious clouds.
At the centre, the jadeite is intricately carved with a horse resting among flowing clouds and carrying a coin upon its back. The carving is full of depth and movement, with the horse, coin and layered cloud motifs clearly defined within the softly translucent green jade.
The design represents the traditional Chinese expression “Ma Shang You Qian” (马上有钱) — literally, “money on horseback”, a playful visual rebus conveying the auspicious wish of fortune arriving swiftly and prosperity close at hand.
The horse carries a wider symbolism too: steadfastness, loyalty, strength and the determination to keep moving forward. Together with the flowing clouds and coin motif, the pendant becomes a charming expression of good fortune, perseverance and purposeful progress.
The natural jadeite displays a fresh, luminous green with subtle variations of colour throughout the carving. Its translucency becomes particularly beautiful when held to the light.
The jadeite is framed in 18K gold, bearing a G18K mark, and surrounded by 35 natural diamonds, each measuring approximately 1.75mm in diameter. The diamonds are estimated at approximately 0.65–0.70ct total, creating a fine halo of light around the vivid green jade.
Elegant in scale yet rich in symbolism, this is a distinctive piece of jade jewellery that can be worn every day while carrying a deeply rooted Eastern message of fortune and strength.
