SUBJECT
Late Qing Dynasty Natural Burmese Jadeite Pendant
“He He Mei Mei” — Harmony & Auspicious Beauty
Antique Chinese Jade Carving | Collectors’ Piece

DESCRIPTION
This exquisite antique pendant dates to the Late Qing Dynasty (circa late 19th – early 20th century) and is carved from natural Burmese jadeite of fine quality.
The jade is untreated, undyed, and entirely natural, with no artificial enhancement, and has been professionally tested to ensure authenticity and quality.

Design & Symbolism

The carving features a graceful composition of lotus flowers and lotus leaves, rendered with flowing lines and refined detailing.
In Chinese culture, “He” (lotus) is a homophone for “harmony”, and the motif “He He Mei Mei” symbolises:
• Harmony and unity
• Marital happiness and family peace
• A smooth, balanced, and auspicious life

The layered leaves and openwork carving allow light to pass through the jade, creating a sense of depth, translucency, and quiet movement — a hallmark of traditional Chinese jade aesthetics.

Material & Craftsmanship
• Finely textured jadeite with a soft, luminous sheen
• Natural, elegant green tones with gentle colour variation
• Hand-carved with smooth, confident lines typical of Late Qing jade workmanship, combining naturalism with restrained elegance

Above the pendant sits a natural jadeite bead, harmoniously matched in colour, accented with seed pearls and small red accent beads, adding subtle contrast and refinement. The pendant is finished with a hand-braided cord, enhancing its antique, understated character.

This is a piece that does not rely on bold colour, but instead captivates through material quality, proportion, and cultural meaning — equally suitable for refined daily wear or as a meaningful collector’s object.
