An exceptionally rare antique Hairwork ring dating to the 17th century, crafted in 15k gold and preserving a remarkable piece of personal history.
The centre is set with a beautifully cut natural rock crystal panel, beneath which lies an intricate woven hairwork design. Before the invention of photography, hairwork jewellery served as treasured keepsakes, created to commemorate loved ones and preserve cherished memories in wearable form.
The crystal remains bright and transparent, allowing the delicate woven pattern to be admired in full detail. Four antique-cut natural diamonds accent the shoulders, adding gentle sparkle and highlighting the refined craftsmanship of the piece.
The ring retains its original closed-back setting and elegant flower-pot gallery, both characteristic of early antique jewellery. Rarely encountered today, it represents an extraordinary combination of history, sentiment, artistry, and craftsmanship.
