A charming and romantic Georgian / Regency era ring dating to circa 1820–1840, beautifully crafted in 15ct gold and designed as a delicate flower. At its centre sits a vivid natural ruby, surrounded by six luminous natural seed pearls, creating a timeless blossom motif beloved throughout the early 19th century.
The shoulders are adorned with elegant scrolling details, while both outer sides of the shank retain fine hand-engraved decoration, showcasing the craftsmanship and refined beauty of the Georgian period.
To the reverse is a traditional locket compartment, once intended to hold a cherished keepsake or lock of hair. The original cover is no longer present, but the sentimental construction remains a wonderful reminder of the romantic traditions of the era.
Elegant, feminine, and full of history, this is a beautiful survivor from the Regency period.

CONDITION
Very good antique condition.
The ruby and seed pearls are secure and original. The ring retains its original shoulders and hand-engraved decoration. The locket compartment remains intact, although the original cover is no longer present, consistent with age and use. Overall, it displays beautifully and remains a delightful example of early 19th-century sentimental jewellery.
NOTES
During the Georgian and Regency periods, jewellery often carried deeply personal meaning. Hidden compartments were designed to preserve locks of hair or tiny mementoes, transforming jewellery into treasured keepsakes.
